Chairman's Message

Chairman's Message

Dear Friends,

It is with immense pride, joy and gratitude that I introduce the Triprayar Sports and Games Association (TSGA).

Nestled between the serene Canoly Canal and the majestic Arabian Sea, Triprayar — a temple town along the central Kerala coast — has long been a place where devotion, culture, and community spirit thrive. From this soil emerged a group of passionate sports enthusiasts whose dedication gave birth to Triprayar Sports and Games Association (TSGA), a collective driven by love for sports and the spirit of togetherness.

Established and registered in 1988, Triprayar Sports and Games Association have completed an inspiring and remarkable journey of over 37 years.  Looking back, feel a sense of wonder at what has been achieved.   Over the decades, many eminent and distinguished personalities from Nattika Manappuram and beyond who have excelled in social, cultural, political and sporting arenas — have served as members, patrons, chairpersons, and office bearers, contributing greatly to the Association’s growth and legacy.  We have been blessed with the leadership and guidance of these eminent personalities.  Their contribution continues to inspire our path forward.

Today, TSGA stands strong as a vibrant organization of 323 members — a fellowship bound by friendship, teamwork, shared values and a common passion for sports.  It is this spirit of unity and teamwork that has been the foundation of all the success that we have achieved.

Over the years, TSGA has proudly organized 19 All-India Volleyball Tournaments, the Federation Cup Championships in 1990 and 2003 and the Super League in 1999TSGA served as the boxing venue for the 2015 National Games — the first ever held in Kerala. Each of the above milestones reflects our commitment, dedication, mutual respect, perseverance, and shared vision that define TSGA.

Our humble beginnings remain close to our hearts - an office that started at the Triprayar Dreamland Tourist Home, thanks to the generous support of the late Thattuparambil Bhaskarettan.   From those modest roots, we gradually grew, hosting tournaments, saving the proceeds, and acquiring small parcels of land. Eventually, through sheer commitment and collective effort, we became proud owners of two acres of land — an achievement we once only dreamed of - turning what once seemed a dream into reality.

Those early days were marked by sheer passion and determination:  Makeshift galleries built with bamboo and coir, courts were prepared with sand, gravel and clay. Matches played even after heavy rains, the ground was dried using sawdust and petrol so that play could continue. Such determination built the foundation on which TSGA stands today and the spirit that powered us forward.

The dream of an indoor stadium was once distant, yet destiny smiled when I was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly in 2001 while serving as Chairman of TSGA. That opportunity allowed us to turn that dream into reality.  We succeeded and cherished our proud moment of hosting the National Games at our own venue.

Our journey is a testament to unity, perseverance, and shared purpose. TSGA continues to nurture and train talented athletes, especially volleyball players who bring pride to our state and nation.

We are privileged to have the continued guidance and support of many distinguished and eminent personalities.  Our current patron PadmaShri: Yusuff Ali M.A., along with V.P. Nandakumar, and C.P. Salih and several others, remain pillars of strength for our organization.  With renewed energy and commitment, TSGA continues its forward march with confidence and vision.

We are also honored by our collaboration and association with the Volleyball Federation of India, the Sports Authority of India, and the Kerala State Sports Council, whose recognition and support have greatly strengthened our initiatives.

As we look to the future, TSGA remains committed to promoting sportsmanship, fostering community spirit, and nurturing the champions of tomorrow. We look forward to your continued friendship, encouragement, cooperation and support in all our endeavors. Together, let us uphold the values of unity and sportsmanship that define the Triprayar Sports and Games Association.

With warm regards,

T.N. Prathapan Ex MP
